Rocket Run is on October 6, 2017

rocketrun1What is the Rocket Run?

The Rocket Run is our annual Jog-A-Thon event and is the primary PTC fundraiser for Rock Creek Elementary school.  The money raised during this event goes directly to student enrichment programs such as art literacy, assemblies, holiday parties, field trips and classroom learning materials all supported by the Parent Teacher Club.

How will my student participate?

All students participate in the run with their class and receive a free Rocket Run t-shirt.  The students will run, walk or jog as many laps as they can during the run.

How can our family help with the fundraiser?

Students are encouraged to ask family, friends and neighbors to sponsor them with a flat donation or a per-lap donation to help achieve our fundraising goal.  Students should always be accompanied by an adult when they are asking

Volunteer Opportunities

Please consider volunteering to support the Rocket Run.  To sign up to volunteer, go to myvolunteerpage.com and look for Rocket Run under Opportunities.

Class Support (by grade)

Support your student’s class by marking laps, handing out water and cheering the kids on while they run. 

Setup

Come early and help setup everything that is needed for the Rocket Run including signs, tables, tents, and water coolers.

Half Day Volunteer

Work in the volunteer tent checking in other volunteers, filling out lap count sheets and switching out class tents in between races.

Parent 5K Run

Work in the volunteer tent checking in parents, handing out t-shirts, marking laps during the run and cheering on the runners.

Teardown

Come late and help take everything down for the Rocket Run and put it away.
